2018 Lord and Lady Somers Camps

Dear Scheyvillians. Once again we are  invited to attend January’s Lord and Lady Somers Camps. Full dates and other details are given in the brochure below.

The day is always well worthwhile and confirms the value of the camps as being the Victorian Chapter’s main Youth Development thrust.

I order that we may make a strong showing I would seek to have as many as possible attend on the one day ( although this would not be mandatory!)

Accordingly, I am calling for people to volunteer to come and then, hopefully, try to get as many as we can to come together.

Could you please let me know if you can come and which ( Boys’ 8,9,10 January  or Girls, 15,16, 17January) would best suit you. I can then try to coordinate these to get as many Scheyvillians as possible for the one visit to each. Partners are welcome.

A reply by 13 December would be very much appreciated.

Thank you if you have already replied to this invitation to visit January 2018 Lord and Lady Somers Camps. If you have replied, please ignore this email, though note the arrival time would be 10.00am.

As a supporter of Lord Somers Camp and Power House (LSC&PH), we are delighted to invite you to visit for lunch at either of the upcoming Lord or Lady Somers Camps which will be held in January 2018.

Our hallmark programs, the Lord and Lady Somers Camps aim to challenge the perspectives that young people hold about themselves and others. Through introducing 100 boys and 100 girls to a broad range of peers, we help dismantle social barriers, increase understanding and acceptance of diversity, and help young people reach their full potential.

Each Big Camp week is organised, planned and led by over 200 volunteers, many of them who have been through Big Camp themselves and are now part of the Lord Somers Camp and Power House Community.

These camps are happening in January 2018, and we would love for you to be a part of them by joining us for lunch at either of the following:

Lord Somers Camp – Monday 8th, Tuesday 9th or Wednesday 10th January

Lady Somers Camp – Monday 15th, Tuesday 16th or Wednesday 17th January

The day will begin around 10 am where you will be greeted by a volunteer member of the Public Relations department. There will be a tour of the campsite and an opportunity to observe the games and activities, lunch with guest speakers and entertainment. You visit would conclude at 2.30pm.
