National Reunion Deferral

National Reunion – Coronavirus Impact

Dear Scheyvillians, much has changed since my last communication on the future of the October National Reunion.

In his April 3rd press release Australia’s Prime Minister, Hon Scott Morrison MP, said:

“We will be living with this virus for at least six months, so social distancing measures to slow the spread of this virus must be sustainable for at least that long to protect Australian lives”.

Bearing this in mind , the Association Executive has further reviewed the situation and reached a decision to reschedule the Reunion for next year.

Of paramount consideration is the fact that our membership is in the age group most vulnerable to the virus. Deferral of the reunion will afford the best protection for us all.

Arrangements and timing for 2021 will be as originally set down for this year.

National Reunion

Dear Scheyvillians, in light of the measures currently mandated
to minimise the spread of the Coronavirus, serious consideration
has been given by the Association Executive to the future of
the October National reunion.

Although almost six months away, it has been agreed
to make a decision in mid-July to proceed with, or defer, the event.
By so doing we will be much better placed to make an informed
call – a call that will be in keeping with the best government and
medical advice.

May I stress that any such deliberation will take a highly conservative
view of matters at that time.

Frank Miller.
