Commemoration of the 75^th Anniversary of the commencement of National Service in Australia.

This will be held at 10.30 am, on 14^th February in the Great Hall, Parliament House, Canberra.

Through our Association’s contribution to the second Scheme (1965 – 72) it would be fitting that

we have a strong representation. Your attendance would be appreciated.

Mr. Ron Brandy, President of the National Servicemen’s Association of Australia, has been representing our body on a committee to plan the commemoration for the 75th Anniversary of National Service in Australia. The arrangements for this have now been agreed.

In essence, a Ceremony is to take place on Saturday 14th February starting at 10.30 am in the Great Hall, Parliament House, Government Drive, Canberra , ACT.

Paul Meldrum (3/68) has been suffering with dementia for some years and finally succumbed to the disease on Thursday 11 December 2025.

His son Ed has advised that the funeral will be next Thursday 18 December at 11am at St Anne’s Anglican Church, at the corner of Homebush and Beresford Rd, Strathfield.

Paul had been a member of the OTU-A for many years and at one time was the Auditor for the association. He attended the last National Reunion held in the Richmond/Scheyville area in October 2022.

The association looks forward to having a good representation at Paul’s funeral.
