Subject:”BRAVERY AND BETRAYAL” DOCO
Hi everyone,
.
You’ll all be aware of the publicity, investigation, and “trial by media” over recent years on allegations of “war crimes” against our forces who served in Afghanistan – specifically SASR and commandoes.
So far, after millions of dollars, hundreds of interviews and interrogations, thousands of words and hours of TV commentary, only one (1) individual has been charged.  As a consequence of years of adverse publicity, a group of SASR veterans with private donations and individual support have fought to clear the name of the Regiment with the production of a documentary called “Bravery and Betrayal”.
It has now been released for public screening and it makes for an extremely eye-opening, moving and poignant account of special force service in Afghanistan.
.
For some time, I’ve been aware of the deep dissatisfaction and sense of betrayal that the SASR veterans have for the senior military and politicians, and last week I sat alongside some 100 ex-SASR warriors to view the doco.    I recommend it highly to you all.
.
The following is a link to the web-site and list of public screenings.   https://wanderingwarriors.org/bravery-betrayal-the-documentary/
Upon viewing the doco, one can make one’s own decision about what went on.
.
Best regards to all,
Melford (Fin) Roe

A final invitation – remember that this is a mixed function. And our excellent speaker has insights into the somewhat overlooked Australian successes on Crete in mid 1941.

Our speaker, Brian Taaffe, wrote this book on Crete:

Brian’s interests in this theatre go much further. They include careful study of the fierce and successful resistance  by Australian infanteers along the coast east of the New Zealand area of operations.

Brian recommends these YouTube videos for prior study:
