Grant Baker has thankfully poiinted out an error in the bank details on the flyer.

correct details of the bank account for the function on 4 April

The correct details are as Follows:

Passing of Ian Dobie (2/67)

Dear Schevillians, we have received the following advice from Ray Elder (2/67) concerning the passing of classmate,  Ian Dobie:

Funeral details will follow.

Just to ensure that you are aware that the remarkable Ian Dobie passed away in his sleep last night his long battle with cancer.

It is indeed a very sad time for his mates from 2/67 and elsewhere.

As yet , no funeral details are available but I shall pass on details when they are available.

I plan to organise a wake in due course, most likely at the Heroes.

Ray Elder

OTU VICTORIAN CHAPTER – PARTICIPATION IN 2024 ANZAC DAY MARCH TO THE

SHRINE OF REMEMBRANCE AND MIXED LUNCHEON

Dear Victorian Scheyvillian, the OTU Association will, once again, be parading as a separate unit in this year’s ANZAC Day march to Melbourne’s Shrine of Remembrance. To all Scheyvillians the march presents an opportunity to be part of this great Australian tradition.

We would be keen indeed to have you join us.

The details are as follows: –

Dress. Suit/Jacket and tie – preferably the OTU tie if possible.

Medals. Please wear all medals you have been awarded.

Assembly. According to the RSL we are to assemble on the North side of Flinders Street to the Western side of Swanston Street at 0830 hrs for 0935 hrs march off.

It is strongly urged we gather at the assembly point by 0815 hrs as the actual march off time has been significantly ahead of that stipulated in recent years.

RSL Marshals will direct you to the precise location. Our contingent will be behind the National Servicemen’s Association.

After the March. We will once again be a having mixed get together after the march. This will be held at the RACV Bistro, RACV Club, 501 Bourke St, Melbourne 1200 hrs for 1230 hrs. (Tel 9944 8888). Enter via the front door. Tram No. 58, caught in St. Kilda Road, will carry marchers from the Shrine to the Club.

A fixed two course menu along with selected beers, wines, soft drinks, tea and coffee has been ordered.

The luncheon will cost $50.00 per head with payment required before the event. (It will be subsidised from our funds to cover drinks and the extra $6 per head for the meal in order to keep the expense to you as low as possible).
