Please don’t use “reply” to respond to this email but contact Robin Hunt as shown below

Dear Scheyvillians,

Tony Sonneveld’s funeral will be held in Sydney next Monday, 21st November

The Association will be represented by our National Chairman – Mr Frank Miller – and I have no doubt many of Tony’s classmates and NSW Association members will also attend that service.

The Victorian Chapter will be commemorating Tony’s life with a wake to be held at the Heros (72 Clendon Rd, Toorak – its where we have our annual dinner and post ANZAC Day lunches) this coming Monday 21st at 1700 hrs (ie 5 pm) to 1900 hours. Drinks at bar prices with the Association providing some sandwiches

Tony was one of the founding fathers of the OTU Association. He has been National Chairman, New South Wales State Chairman and a driving force that saw the Association become such a strong part of the lives of those who had shared “The Scheyville Experience”. His contribution has been immeasurable.

Tony will be especially remembered for his organising the hugely successful 1993 and 2003 National OTU reunions in Sydney.

To assist with catering, acceptances only to Robin Hunt rvmh@bigpond.net.au (please don’t use “reply” to this email) by 1100 hours Monday 21st.

                                       Passing of Tony Sonneveld OAM

Dear Scheyvillians, it is with great sadness that I advise that Tony Sonneveld (1/70) passed away at 8.00am today (Sunday 13 November). He had bravely battled his cancer over many years with his characteristic tenacity and spirit.

Tony was one of the founding fathers of the OTU Association. He has been National Chairman, New South Wales State Chairman and a driving force that saw the Association become such a strong part of the lives of those who had shared “The Scheyville Experience”. His contribution has been immeasurable.

Tony will be especially remembered for his organising the hugely successful 1993 and 2003 National reunions in Sydney. We understood from these how he had become described as the “pocket dynamo”.

Tony will be sadly missed.

Our sincerest condolences go to wife Viv and the family and to brother John (2/68).

Funeral details will be made available when they come to hand.

Frank Miller

Chairman,

OTU Association.
