OCTOBER OTU ASSOCIATION NATIONAL REUNION

 

Dear Scheyvillians, as previously announced the National Reunion will comprise a Dinner on Friday 14th October 2022 with Saturday 15th October being set aside for individual class reunions. On Sunday 16th October a BBQ Lunch will be at Scheyville itself.

 

Further information concerning accommodation in the Windsor region and possible venues for Class reunion activities is detailed in the latest “Scheyvillian”.

 

The National Executive has agreed to provide a substantial subsidy towards the reunion costs.

 

 

Details

Friday 14 October 2022 National Reunion Dinner will be held in The Ted McCabe Function Centre, Hawkesbury Race Club, 1 Racecourse Road, Clarendon NSW.

 

Dress: lounge suit for gentlemen. Miniatures may be worn. Timings:

 

Registration                                      6.00 pm – 6.30 pm

Pre-Dinner Drinks and Canapes       6.15 pm – 7.00 pm

Entry to Function Venue                  7.00 pm – 7.15 pm

Dinner                                               7.15 pm – 10.45 pm

Comradeship                                   10.45 pm – 11.30 pm

 

Cost: The cost of the dinner, including canapes, pre-dinner drinks, three course meal and 5-hour premium beverage package will be $125.00 per head.

 

The Guest Speaker will be former OTU DS LTCOL Tony Larnach-Jones OAM (Retd).

 

Bookings are to be made through the Eventbrite on-line system (below). Please note that attendance at Friday’s Dinner is limited to 400 persons so it will be “first in best dressed”.

 

Saturday 15 October 2022 is set aside for individual class reunions.  Classes are advised to appoint a coordinator to make the best of this opportunity to catch up with so many friends from so long ago.

 

Sunday 16 October 2022 BBQ Lunch at the Scheyville Site.

This involves a visit to the former OTU Site at Scheyville National Park on Sunday from 11 am. A BBQ lunch will be provided, for $20.00 per head in the quadrangle of the former Officers’ Mess. Limited beer, wine and soft drinks will be provided free of charge by the Association. Again, bookings are to be made through the Eventbrite system. For catering purposes, bookings are essential.

 

Payment Through the Eventbrite System: Eventbrite is a simple and direct system through which people attending the Dinner and BBQ Lunch need book and make the appropriate payment. It accepts Credit/Debit cards and PayPal. The site is now open. Access is made through clicking on the link below. It is simple and straightforward.

 

Please note: Bookings close on 30 September. Table allocations will be by Class wherever possible.

Reminder: Duntroon Society VIC table at the MCC Luncheon 13 July

Dear Members and Guests,
REMINDER,
Our next activity is the Duntroon Society VIC Branch table at the MCC Military Veterans Group luncheon on Wednesday July 13, 2022.

Members and their guests will be treated to a two course lunch with a four hour beverage package in the Members’ Dining Room.

We will hear from special guest speaker, Director of the Australian War Memorial, Mr Matt Anderson PSM.

Time: 12.00pm for 12.30pm

Location:  Members Dining Room Level 2, Members Reserve

Dress:  Jacket and tie for men and equivalent standard for women, (no denim, please)

Cost: $85.00

Bookings are now open and will close at 5.00pm, Sunday 3 July unless sold out prior. There will be strictly no refunds after this time.
