MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL FY 2022/2023 – REMINDER

Gentlemen,

Our current 2022/2023 financial membership is 554, some way from the 658 financial members we had at the end of last FY.  Further, the rate of financial membership renewals has slowed considerably.  In looking for answers, our database reveals that there are a number of members who have been financial over the recent years, but who have not as yet renewed their financial membership for 2022/2023.

If you receive this letter, you are one of the members mentioned above and we would be interested to know if something has happened to change your mind about belonging to the Association.   Or, is it simply a matter of ‘old timers disease’ kicking in or, in the vernacular of some 55 years ago, you have been ‘slack and idle’.

Should you wish to renew your membership a Membership Renewal Form is attached.  Three payment options are available when renewing membership:

• Complete the Membership Renewal Form, attach a cheque and send it to our Treasurer,
• Use the information of the Membership Renewal Form to pay by Direct Debit.
• Access the website, www.otu.asn.au and pay by PayPal.

If you are paying by Direct Debit or PayPal and haven’t recently updated your personal details on the website could you please take some time to do so.

It would help if we could receive your membership renewal by 30 September 2022.

If you are no longer interested in being a member of the Association, please return the Membership Renewal Form, with the appropriate box notated accordingly.

OCTOBER OTU ASSOCIATION NATIONAL REUNION

Dear Scheyvillians, as previously announced the National Reunion will comprise a Dinner on Friday 14th October 2022 with Saturday 15th October being set aside for individual class reunions. On Sunday 16th October a BBQ Lunch will be at Scheyville itself.

Further information concerning accommodation in the Windsor region and possible venues for Class reunion activities is detailed in the latest “Scheyvillian”.

The National Executive has agreed to provide a substantial subsidy towards the reunion costs.

Details

Friday 14 October 2022 National Reunion Dinner will be held in The Ted McCabe Function Centre, Hawkesbury Race Club, 1 Racecourse Road, Clarendon NSW.

Dress: lounge suit for gentlemen. Miniatures may be worn. Timings:

Registration 6.00 pm – 6.30 pm
Pre-Dinner Drinks and Canapes 6.15 pm – 7.00 pm
Entry to Function Venue 7.00 pm – 7.15 pm
Dinner 7.15 pm – 10.45 pm
Comradeship 10.45 pm – 11.30 pm

Cost: The cost of the dinner, including canapes, pre-dinner drinks, three course meal and 5-hour premium beverage package will be $125.00 per head.

The Guest Speaker will be former OTU DS LTCOL Tony Larnach-Jones OAM (Retd).

Bookings are to be made through the Eventbrite on-line system (below). Please note that attendance at Friday’s Dinner is limited to 400 persons so it will be “first in best dressed”.

Saturday 15 October 2022 is set aside for individual class reunions. Classes are advised to appoint a coordinator to make the best of this opportunity to catch up with so many friends from so long ago. Sunday 16 October 2022 BBQ Lunch at the Scheyville Site.
This involves a visit to the former OTU Site at Scheyville National Park on Sunday from 11 am. A BBQ lunch will be provided, for $20.00 per head in the quadrangle of the former Officers’ Mess. Limited beer, wine and soft drinks will be provided free of charge by the Association. Again, bookings are to be made through the Eventbrite system. For catering purposes, bookings are essential.

Payment Through the Eventbrite System: Eventbrite is a simple and direct system through which people attending the Dinner and BBQ Lunch need book and make the appropriate payment. It accepts Credit/Debit cards and PayPal. The site is now open. Access is made through clicking on the link below. It is simple and straightforward.

Please note: Bookings close on 30 September. Table allocations will be by Class wherever possible.

3. Select the number of attendees for whom you are registering under both “Reunion” and “Picnic”.

4. Fill in details as requested. Please note for Scheyville Class it should be in the form of e.g. 3/67 for
the third class of 1967.
5. Accept Eventbrite conditions.

6. Fill out details under “Payment Method”.

7. Place order
