ANZAC Day Lunch at Toorak Services Club (“the Heroes”)
In the past, the ANZAC Day Lunch at the Heroes has been a sit down roast a per head cost of around $35.
The Club has recently changed its chef and, at its recent AGM, revamped its kitchen pricing and decided that Public Holiday penalty rates were to be passed on to customers. The kitchen has been losing money.
We learnt only last week that these changes would result in the usual ANZAC Day Lunch costing $55 per head.
Drawing on our combined wisdom and our proven ability to tackle unexpected disasters, Frank Miller and I thought that the $55 per head was a bit steep and as a result we have arranged for the Club to provide a “light lunch” of sandwiches and party pies, cheese and bikies and tea/coffee for $35 per head. We also feel that this is steep for what we are getting but time was well against us arranging something else. The ANZAC Day lunch 2018 venue is obviously up for consideration.
To avoid the problems which arose at the 2016 lunch, only those who have advised attendance by 21 April will be able to enjoy the lunch. Of course, anybody else who decides to come along will be very welcome to enjoy a liquid lunch.
Thank you all
