Passing of 3TB Padre – Lex Levy

All,

We have received an email from Paul Rees (3/68) about the sudden death of Lex Levy who was the RC Padre at 3TB from 1969 for a period unknown to him.

“3TB was Lex’s initial posting so he was a “babe in the woods” with both Army and Mess life.   I suppose like most RC Padres he was known as “Dad”. Lex had retired from active church duties and lived in a retirement villa in Morpeth in the Hunter Valley.   He was found dead in his bed on Saturday morning and is presumed to have had a stroke sometime during the previous night.   As a significant cohort of OTU’ers would have had contact with Lex I thought you may like to be aware.  Regards   Paul Rees”

Passing of Howard Sattler 3/68

It is with much sadness that the OTU Association advises the death of Howard Sattler (Class 3/68). Howard died on 11 June 2021, at the age of 76, following a long battle with a degenerative neurological condition. He is survived by his wife Despene, who stated ‘It is an absolute blessing … not a cruel twist … that he died naturally.’

Family, friends and colleagues are warmly invited to attend the Celebration of Life for the late Howard Neville Sattler to be held in the Norfolk Chapel, Karrakatta Cemetery, Railway Rd, Karrakatta, next Tuesday (22 June 2021) at 12.30pm followed by interment in Lawn S Section.

By family request, no visitors to the family home please!

The association hopes that it will be well represented at the celebration.
