The 2011 Lord (boys) and Lady (girls) Somers Camps are to be held in early January. Once again the OTU Association has been extended an invitation for our members to visit and see what takes place there. From experience may I say that the effort is well worth while.
We are invited to the boys’ camp on 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 January and the girls’ 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 January. Furthermore, we can attend each if we so want.
Casual shorts and shirts are the order of dress for the day.
The visit will involve an initial briefing, a walk around the campsite to get an appreciation of the activities taking place, lunch in the Mess Hut followed by an opportunity to chat to some of the young people. It commences at 10.15 am and finishes around 2.30 pm.
It is also important that, as a major sponsor, we attend and “show the flag” there.
Could you please let me know before 16 December if you are able to make a visit.
