Gregory Hugh Moore was born in Rockhampton, Qld, on 2 February 1952, and completed his secondary education at North Rockhampton High School. Greg was employed as a Trainee Bar Manager at the Kalka Hotel-Motel in North Rockhampton before he enlisted in the Army as National Serviceman 1739728 on 27 September 1972,
commencing at OTU with Class 4/72 on 15 October as a member of 7 Platoon, Blamey Company. Greg was one of the majority of that class who decided when the new Labor Government ended National Service on 5 December 1972, to continue his Army Service. With the OCS/OTU Class 2/72 now in its third of four terms at OTU, rank for ‘Nashos’ was hard to obtain, consequently, in his Senior Term, Greg remained in Blamey Platoon. Greg graduated with his class on 19 April 1973 and was allocated to the Infantry Corps and posted to 1 RAR. In later life, Greg was a Taxi driver in ‘Rocky’.
Greg was residing in Emu Plains in the Penrith district of Sydney when he died 23 October 1992.
